At Galavanta, we strongly believe that travel should generate a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
Our commitment contributes to the protection of valuable ecosystems and wildlife, fighting climate change, preserving cultures, and implementing beneficial labor conditions amongst our employees and partners.
As of 2023, we are measuring, reducing and offsetting the impact of our operations. Our efforts, the commitment of our partners and suppliers, and our clients’ awareness are fundamental for the sustainable development of tourism in Colombia.
Local actions can effect global change! At Galavanta, we strive to support underpriviledged or vulnerable communities in various destinations across Colombia. Every trip that is taken with Galavanta contributes to that purpose.
GivePower
For each client Galavanta hosts in Colombia, A contribution is made toward the installation and maintenance of a water treatment plant to provide drinking water in Wayuu communities in La Guajira desert.
Amigos del Mar
Galavanta provides scholarships so children from the island of Tierra Bomba receive access to formal education and extracurricular activities.
To better understand our suppliers, we use a numeric rating scale to evaluate their commitment to sustainability, provide education on indicators that require reinforcement, and communicate our sustainability efforts to send a clear message to our partners and clients.
Every trip you take with Galavanta is monitored and measured for its CO2 footprint.
The impact is then compensated via certified credit programs that reduce or remove greenhouse gasses (GHG) that have been released into the atmosphere as a result of activities involving fuels and enery consumption.
This work takes place through an internationally backed not-for-profit initiative based in Colombia that directly supports environmental restoration and conservation programs and initiatives throughout the country.
Waste Footprint
Implement the Three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) approach in all our operations, designing educational programs aimed at our suppliers and collaborators.
Water Footprint
Generate awareness among suppliers, employees and customers about responsible water consumption.
Make the switch to eco-friendly and biodegradable cleaning products in our offices and properties.
Contribute to the restoration of the oceans through coral harvesting initiatives.
Biodiversity Footprint
Practice responsible interactions with wildlife, and provide financial support to conservation projects that protect threatened species.
